Moonlight is a Smash

Everyone should watch the new show Moonlight on CBS--Fridays at 9 after Ghost Whisperer. I would say it's the best vampire show since Buffy or Angel, but I think it's going to be different from either. Plus it's got the glorious Sophia Myles as the female lead, and that's just awesome.

More review of it to come later.

Shows which have been especially good this season: NCIS (no surprise there), House (surprised, because I didn't follow any of last season, yet this one intrigues me), and Numb3rs.

Flash Gordon continues to get better with every episode, to the point that it's now one of my absolute favorites on TV. It has DEFINITELY improved since the "just okay" review I gave it originally. Go find the back episodes and watch this show--I think if you like carefree sci-fi, you will enjoy it. Always provides an entertaining hour of TV that I can enjoy without having to put out an immense amount of thought. I'm so enamored with the character of Baylinn, because she's freaking amazing. The actresses' comedic timing is impressive and personally I'm rooting for a Baylinn/Flash pairing or even more expansion on the Baylinn/Zarkov (sp?) friendship/relationship. I'm finding that the actors are growing more confident in their parts, and I'm hoping that Sci-Fi actually gives this show the chance to grow even more in a second season. With the rate at which the cast is improving, the second season could be akin in performance with that of Charmed's 2nd. I am really enjoying this show, and I'm willing to explore the wild and wacky world of Mongo more.

Shows I want badly to hurry up and return with a new season: Psych, Burn Notice

I'm terribly pissed at Fox for moving Bones to Tuesday nights at 8, right opposite of NCIS, another crimeish drama. That's not smart, because I'd bet that a lot of people who watch Bones watch NCIS and vice versa. I personally (and Sam will be mad about this ;)) prefer NCIS over Bones because I find that NCIS is just a lighter show--it's INCREDIBLY character based with a dynamic that just cannot be beat. Bones can tend toward the very graphic and very depressing in the murder category, while NCIS' cases always end up a little weird and somehow amusing. I read recently that NCIS' ratings have boosted for this season, and I'm incredibly excited because I would absolutely LOVE to see a sixth and seventh and eighth and onwards for seasons. NCIS is definitely a top contender in my favorite shows, probably 3rd with Charmed and Buffy occupying the major obsession spots. Yes, because I watch so much TV I rank my favorite TV shows.

Probably will be following this season of Bones through bittorrents because my computer has decided it doesn't want to view episodes from the tv stations' website--I spent an hour and half fighting with the NBC site just to watch 20 minutes of Bionic Woman. Note on this show: it's okay if you're not expecting much. I would compare the first two episodes in quality to that of the first two Flash Gordon, but unlike FG, this show bills itself as a serious drama--and there are just so many character reactions that are off that I can't take it seriously. The most interesting thing in the show so far to me is the Sarah Corvin storyline. That's probably not a good sign when the main character is just rather irritating; I found the same thing happened with Grey's Anatomy and I eventually lost all interest.
