hopefully, YOU, my tireless reader will forgive me a bit for the following massive post of pictures. They're from my hike through the Abel Tasman National Park (aforementioned) and as you can see, it was a truly beautiful and awe-inspiring place..can you believe this is New Zealand?!? It looks like some tropical island I don't know where....anyway, look at the pics and then I'll write a little more....
I'm now back in Wellington, staying with the niece of one of my WWOOF hosts, and she and her husband are lovely. I also was walking all over Wellington yesterday, and totally randomly, I ran into my German friend Moe that I met in Taupo...and he's been living in here in Wellington for a couple weeks so he took me to all these stores that he said he knew I'd like and he was right! there is so much stuff I want to buy, but alas, not enough money for everything...anyway, he also took me to this music store called 'Real Groovy', that is a landmark in Wellington, and they are great in my book for a few reasons including: Over the Rhine CDs right as you walk in the door (did I mention that OTR are about to start a NZ tour? OMG), a huge selection of music, including tons of vinyl, and you can listen to any vinyl and CDs that you want. So since Moe is really into reggae and dancehall, he pushed a bunch of music on me to take up to the listening stations, and it was SO fantastic to hear new music, when you're traveling you just don't hear it because you can't afford it or whatever, but it was great, I can't wait to go dancing with CBR, my favorite dancer!!!
So big shoutout to Real Groovy and new music and Wellington, because it has a sweet as scene and it feels good to be in a city again. But! tomorrow, I bid it goodbye and head back out to the bush and my last WWOOF place for this trip in the Wairarapa...
