I Never Thought in High School
I never thought in high school that I didn't have it all figured out already. I knew exactly what I was doing and who I was. Of course I hated everything I wasn't, but that was what going away to college was for. Going away was for becoming everything I couldn't be here. That's all I needed to do to become something I could love, something I wanted. Just don't ask me what the specifics of that something were though.
I never thought in high school that I could fail so hard, and yet persist. All the time in high school I spent worrying about being ended by failure and it turns out when you fail you don't actually cease to exist. Failure is not the end of everything.
I never thought in high school that I would still be single into my 30's. Of course I would find this mythical creature that would live for me and I for them and we would make a happy life together. Just don't ask me how we would do this or what it would look like. It just was.
I never thought in high school that I was anything but straight. Sure girls are pretty, beautiful even, and fun to be around, and of course I would love to be with one….oh yikes I was an idiot…
