In our school, we planned for a clean
and green movement. We stated in one of
our modules that whoever will be caught
littering will have a fine---was it
20?50?100 php?---and this is applicable
to everyone including visitors.
When our director, one of the
panelists, stood up and gave her
queries, she stated, "What about our
government officials. In my opinion,
they can and should not be fined."
We reasoned out that they are not
exempted, because they are still
visitors who enter our campus. We argued
and argued about this, until we, the
organizers, gave up.
I am posting this not because I want to
bash our director, but, rather, to
tell everyone our stand---Fining the
officials who will break the school
rules---is, in fact, an agreeable point
of view. If they disobey the simple
rule of littering, that means they are
more subject to break the country's far
more complicated and grave rules! Don't
you see the point, dot, or period??? (No
pun...intended)This law is a good way to
see if they are good leaders!!
Littering--no matter how small such a
matter is--can be followed by the other
people who see them, if such is not
tolerated. THey may be people who are of
high power, but they are still citizens
of the RP! They are-NO ONE IS-not
exempted from the laws.
This post is not intended to BASH our
director (I am being redundant here for a purpose), but the real meaning of this
is to enlighten everyone that they
should not tolerate rulebreaking
officials. They are, like us, citizens
of the country, and as citizens of this
state, they must follow the law,
wherever they go.
