Round Robin, Anyone?
I thought since we have so many great writers in this community that maybe we could have a bit of fun round-robining. Anyone interested?
I'll start by posting a few paragraphs, and if you want to join in, just write the next bit in the comments! I'll begin with a bit of Dark!Hatter, eh? Take him where you will!!!
"I want to go home!" she cried.
"Ye are home!" the Hatter said forcefully, grasping her about the shoulders and shaking her. "This is yer home! There is nothing for ye Above, save more misery!"
"You're hurting me!" Alice sobbed, causing the Hatter to stop shaking her, though he still held her firmly in his grasp. His fingers dug in, a bruising strength. "And ye dinna think ye hurt me when ye deny me? When ye deny this is yer home, and me the only family as should matter to yeself?"
The tears trailing down her face turned from ones of confused desperation to fury. "You have no right to tell me whom is important, or whom matters!" she spit out, wrenching herself free of his grasp. "I am tired of this topsy-turvy world, and I...am...going...home."
She made the mistake of turning away from him then, convinced that, while he may be mad, he would never do anything to harm her, not really. Three steps she made it before she was forcibly turned back to him, his hands locked around her waist. Her gasp at the blackness surrounding his eyes caused him to grin, a grin of dubious intent.
"Ye'd leave me, then, to this place, and give nary a thought as to the cruel way ye held me heart in ye fist as ye trounced back Above?" he purred, then added, whispering just about her ear, "I can be cruel, too."
