Alice in Wonderland Big Bang Invitation

Please join us at the Alice in Wonderland Big Bang, a new community (aiw_big_bang ) dedicated to the creation of new, quality, novella length fic and art inspired by those fics.

Also, the due date being in November would concern me, since Nanowrimo is in November.

Don't be concerned--we already have quite a number of sign-ups from longtime members of alice_tarrant and other Alice fandoms!

A big bang is a different beast than NaNoWriMo. NaNoWriMo states that they value quantity over quality, which is not the case with a big bang. And this is a collaborative challenge, where artists and vidders will produce work inspired by the novellas created for the big bang.

Even those who don't care to partake can enjoy the visual and written output come December.

Well with nanowrimo quality tends to come if you just keep writing. The point is to get you to write at all, because most people hem and haw and never get started. Some of my most creative stuff was written for nano.

Anyway, I can't afford to start a whole new novel just for this--I've already been working on my novel for a week and a half, which means it's way way more than 7k by now. Sad but true.

I'm hopeful that this will improve the overall quality of Underland fic on a permanent level. :) We already have some great artists--have you announced in staynexalice yet?

I'm very proud of the fic that has been produced in this young and smallish fandom.

Still getting around to all the various corners and fandoms, but staynexalice will get a promotion as well.

I'm thinking about it, could we use a story we've already started or does it have to be all new? Either way, I'd join just to read.

You can use a story that you have begun but isn't finished. It doesn't have to be all new. Simply lock down the fic if you have already shared some of it on your journal (or elsewhere), so that the fics can be released all together at the final posting date.

Join to read though, we're going to get quite the treat with all these fics.
