Today I watched the third X Men film, which I'd recorded during the week. They killed Patrick Stewart's character. And I wept like a baby. Professor Xavier is not someone that should ever die. He's more like one of those fictional characters that is always supposed to be there, a kind of father figure. Of course I didn't realize I held such views on the matter until I saw the movie (and had the afforementioned baby-weeping).
Also I didn't think the end was very good at all.
In other news, I'm reading a lot of sea stories lately. Mostly Patrick O'Brian, (I'm pretty far along in the series by now), but also the YA series by L. A. Meyer. I've also read a Horatio Hornblower novel, and started No Quarter, by Broos Campbell, and Throne of Jade, by Naomi Novik (which has a lot of sea story in it, along with the dragons).
But I haven't been writing much lately. I believe I wrote 500 words (at most!) this week. Things have been... odd. Busy, and getting over the last vestiges of illness, and probably reading too much, as well.
