I would just add these to my last post, but that's long enough as it is, and since I didn't write anything down as I was reading nor as I was reviewing, these are just coming to me now.
I'm wicked pissed about Ted and Andromeda. Maybe because I've been writing about them for a while (Andie, at least), or because I've been just waiting to see them, but they were a huge dissapointment. They seemed fake, weak, and not developed enough for their history. Maybe because fandom's done a lot with the Blacks, and thus they seem more like main characters, but JKR seemed to dismiss them like nobody would care in the first place.
Ginny's lack of anything. I honestly expected her to do more. JKR's been building her up fantastically since OotP, and I thought that would be worth something in this one. And what the hell was up with Harry telling her she couldn't fight before the Hogwarts batte? I love Harry, sure, but I remember something along the lines off, "Go fuck off" crossing my head at that point.
There was a complete lack of character wrap-ups. Sure, it's nice to have some ambiguity to work with, and some aspects to explore, but it's also nice to be told what happens, sometimes. I'd like to know what happened to the Lovegoods, Xeno especially; as
sor_bet pointed out, what happened to Stan; what the rest of them do for a living, or at least the trio; who Malfoy's wife was; what happened to the Malfoys while they were in the castle full of victorious Order sympathizers; what they did to LV's body, and the rest of the bodies, for that matter; what happened to the rest of Dumbledore's Army and the rest of Harry's friends; and what happened to George, as mentioned in my last post. I'm sure there are more, but I can't think of them right now.
Also, there was an excess of Polyjuice, which got me rather confused because it seemed like it lasted more than hour on all of them, and I don't really understand that. On an aside, shouldn't it have been a lot more awkward for Harry that practically everyone close to him has now been him? I mean, would Hermione and Fleur (and probably most of the boys for that matter) really ever be able to look at him the same way? And I guess that's true for all Polyjuice matters; I just don't think I've ever thought of that.
Oh, and the whole book is complete pervy, but everyone knows that. I'm just reiterating how wonderful it is. I'm sure there'll be more on a re-read.
