Now that the noises have died down, I managed to type this Varen and Alain fic I had in my trusty notebook (TM). Still no smut, but the information on mages that shows up here will prove useful in future fics in this series

I love the interplay between them, and Varen is adorably cranky :) I think the slow pace suits them.

If by slow pace you mean 2 months, yes it does. however, winter days are so much warmer while spent in company, don't you agree? *eg*

Seductive? It's not really Varen's way, he's rather straightforward when it comes to his feelings, but well. I'll recommend it and see what he has to say. In any case, I do believe they won't last apart for longer than late autumn.

lol! actually seductive isn't the word i want to use. more like in the lines of him giving an actual example and not just explaining it to him. it may look cruel but it drives the lesson home. still, i would love to read more of this later when you have more written about them. ^_^

You mean demonstrative, then. Well... I'm pretty sure they'll get to the practical aspect of Varen's magic, in time. Besides, the part on dark mages does serve a purpose. *pets 'Eclipse' so he won't feel lonely with all the "good" bishies lurking about*

Bwhahaha they're just fun to have around. Varen in particular. *has a soft spot for him* Though he was strangely behaved in this piece - I have no idea why, really. Must be the fumes from that brew affecting his metabolism, or something.
