I made this at Thanksgiving and I'm not sure I was so impressed with it. I expected something like french onion soup, with less soup. I'm sure the "cream of whatever" soup was the culprit.. it was a bit on the bland side.

I made
French Onion Soup yesterday. The kids love the soup, but won't touch the onions. So, I see straining out the soup, placing the luscious, caramelized-for-hours onions, then just enough of the broth to soften the bread pieces. No cheese in the onions, just on top after allowing the bread to crisp on top. I think this will be more like what I imagined the previous casserole to taste like. I don't think I'll be disappointed.
