Podfic Updates

Okay, so possibly some of you are thinking "Alice! You were churning out chapters of FCPF so fast a month ago; what happened?" I'm sure it keeps you up, fretting late into the night that you may never hear my dulcet tones again.

Well, I'm sure you would be, if you didn't have lives to be getting on with.

There are a number of reasons why production levels have gone down drastically again. For one, we're having a mini-heatwave. This is actually quite a barrier to recording, because not only does Sylvester get overheated (thus noisier) far more often, I really can't do much recording during the day, because I have to have my windows open. My room is at the back of the house, on the ground floor, and my dad does a lot of gardening. You can see why I might be slightly uncomfortable with the thought of my father overhearing me recording myself pretending to be a man having dirty thoughts. It would just make family dinners awkward.

Second, I have also started another big project. This one is not fanfiction. As you may have guessed from my icon, I am a massive fan of the book Good Omens. Now, my boyfriend's never read it, but I know he'd love it. However, he has dyslexia, so he prefers listening to audiobooks. So I looked up to see if there was a Good Omens audiobook. Good news, there was; bad news, I didn't like the guy reading it. So I've decided to record it myself, with the aim of giving it to him for Christmas. Obviously, Christmas is a long time away, but the book is four hundred pages, and I really don't want to reach December and realise I still have three hundred pages left to do. When I'm finished, it should come to about ten/eleven hours. Part One of A Monster By Any Other Name clocked in at thirteen hours, and I think I started around this time last year as well, so I'm confident I can do.

Obviously, this means that sometimes it is going to have to take precedence over Freak Camp, because I'm on a schedule for it.

Final reason chapters stopped coming so frequently; I've got bandages on my throat at the moment, and since my Dean voice is created via pressing at the base of my throat . . .

In good news, though, I am making progress with Chapter Ten, and hope to have it up by the end of the week.
