I don't even know how to describe how incredible this past weekend was! :D
Manuel surprised me by just showing up on my doorstep!! He had a four day weekend, and so decided to come to Kenyon and be with me. XDDDDDDD He reserved us a room at the Kenyon Inn on campus and had been corresponding with a few of my friends to plan everything. I swear, that boy is the most romantic, cute, sincere person I know. <3
On Friday night, I was just chilling in my room when Manny calls me on the phone. I pick up, and we talk for a while. I ask how he's doing because he had been sounding somewhat tired all day. He was like, "You're worried about me?" Me: "Yeah, you just seem kinda out of it." Manny: "Why don't you check up on me yourself?" Me: "What do you mean?" *knock, knock* I opened the door, and there he was holding a single, red rose. I swear, I nearly crushed his ribs in the hug I gave him. My roomie and I helped him check into the Inn, and I brought over some of my clothes because of course I was going to stay with him all weekend! Jen and I gave Manny a quick night time tour of the campus, then I took him to grab some dinner. We went to the Grill and just talked, hung out, and ate pizza. I couldn't stop grinning, and I tried to touch him as much as possible (holding his hand or hitting my foot into his.) We probably both looked a bit silly because (at least on my end) I was smiling like a Chesire cat. We ordered the Aloha pizza to split (pineapple, ham, chicken, onion pizza with jack and mozzarella cheese). After that, I took him to a party at Hillel that my friends were throwing. We danced, I played beer pong with my friend Sasha, and then we left. I loved being able to sleep with him again, and the hotel room was amazing! There was so much space and a king sized bed. He is truly the perfect boy. :D
Then on Saturday, I took Manny for breakfast at Middle Ground before I had to work the Activities Fair. I dressed up as Tohru from Fruits Basket because I'm Vice President of KJAS (Anime Club) this year. It was fun. I passed out a ton of fliers, and Manny was so cute to help out. I think we might get a lot more members this year. After that, Manny and I went back to the hotel so I could change. lol I reserved us a table at the Kenyon Inn's restaurant, and we ate there that night. Manny ordered this delicious duck with blackberry jam and a rice pilaf, and I had a peppercorn encrusted steak with mashed potatoes. Both of us had torte for dessert (I chose a pecan, caramel torte and Manny had a regular torte.) I took him for a walk around a few more places on campus before we went back to the hotel to chill. ^_^ I knew of a few more parties to go to that night, but we both agreed that we just wanted to spend time alone together.
Sunday I had a meeting with Professor Lopez about many things (applying for three conferences this year, finishing the book chapter, doing honors, blahblah). After that I came back to the hotel and took Manny out to lunch. We then met up with my English adviser Professor Garcia, who I knew would never forgive me if I didn't introduce Manuel to her. We all sat and chatted for a good hour or two. I think they really hit it off, which is great because they are both some of my favorite people. Then Manny and I went back to the hotel. We ordered a TON of take out Chinese food (reminded me of Gilmore Girls, actually) and watched Initial D, Invader Zim, Robot Chicken, and Futurama. I was so sad it was our last night together, but I feel very secure in our relationship. I've never been so happy!
Before Manny left this morning, he gave me a journal. It was one I had given him at the end of summer. He's the only person I know who actually writes in journals, which is why I gave it to him (he normally uses them for when he travels, to write song lyrics in, to take notes for his newspaper articles, etc). He told me that this was going to be our special journal. He wrote down everything that happened to him this past week and all the things that remind him of me (the lists are adorable!) He wants me to do the same, and we'll mail it back and forth to each other every week.
He is the best boyfriend in the entire world. <3
I am so ridiculously happy. I didn't even care this past weekend that I didn't finish all the homework I was supposed to; I have someone who genuinely cares about me, someone who when he says, "I miss you" I know he means it with all his heart. I have never felt so blessed. I can't wait until October for when I go see him! :D
