i'm doing a project for class and i had to find out some things on the current laws in az regarding same-sex marriage. while i was searching.. i came across this website:
http://usmarriagelaws.com/search/united_states/arizona/index.shtml it tells about what you need to do as far as getting a license and the guidelines and all that... anyway, i happened upon this little fact that first cousins are able to marry in az.. here's what it says:
Cousin Marriages: Yes, first cousins may marry if both are sixty-five years of age or older. If one or both first cousins are under sixty-five years of age, they can marry if they show proof to a superior court judge that one of them is unable to reproduce.
haha.. if george michael and maybe moved to az they'd be in luck!
i really just can't understand how first cousins are able to marry and gays aren't.. especially when one of the arguments against same-sex marriage is that marriage is sacred and seeks to preserve reproduction.. hmmm.
back to work...
