The latest happenings of summer
So yesterday I could have said "May the fourth be with you," but I missed the chance to update. Bummer. Instead, I'll wish you all a happy Cinco de Mayo! :)
Please pray for my great Aunt Mary. She's having some health issues that I don't really want to get into on here. She definitely could use extra prayers and thoughts, however.
I started my new job yesterday. It's an interesting one with lots of physical work outside, but I think I'm going to like it. I love the people that I work for/with so far (though I haven't really gotten to know them yet, so that could change), it's great to be outside, and I enjoy working with the plants. I also can make my own schedule each week, don't have to work weekends, and get paid pretty well! It'll be tiring, but worth it.
I also started mentoring for the youths in detention. So far it's a really different experience for me, but I love it. I can tell that the youths just really need love. They've been through everything under the sun at an age where they should not have to worry about such things, and many don't even know where their parents are or if they care. It's a very sad reality that they have to deal with. I hope I'll be able to be someone who makes them feel valued. Please remember them in your prayers, since they need them!
Now that I'm home, the cats have realized that I'm under their "cuteness" spell. They have both taken my weakness to their advantage and gotten many treats, petting, and extra loving. They just ask so politely that I can't resist! :p They both have been following me around non-stop because of this new advantage they've found. =^..^=
Enough of my chatter, I'm off to each chocolate ice cream and watch a movie. Now that's summer. ;) Have a spectacular weekend!
