Well that was brilliant, even better than the first one. The Empty Hearse was frenetic while this one had more quiet contemplation and some wonderful, wonderful John and Sherlock moments. Oh and Mary, who ever came up with the idea of Amanda Abington as Mary deserves a medal - she was an absolute delight. Son and I were bubbling with enthusiasm and sat and discussed some of the plot points and events immediately the episode finished while hubby sat there a little nonplussed. I think he wanted action and mystery and crime - of which there was quite enough, while son and I was thrilled with Sherlock's attempts to be best man at John's wedding (verdict, painfully embarrassing in parts, brilliant in others) and the events leading up to and around the wedding.
So I'm a happy bunny again and looking forward with some anticipation laced with trepidation to the final episode. Waiting for Sherlock is akin to waiting for a bus. You wait for ages (2 bloody years) and then three come at once.
Tell you what I have noticed that annoys me. The haters and dissers have come out in force on line. You read a review in a newspaper or on-line magazine, particularly if it's positive and immediately you get the haters wading in with terrible, self indulgent rubbish, stopped watching it at the last series, Elementary is heaps better, Moffat's writing is crap he ruined Dr Who (This aimed at the first episode which was written by Mark Gattis and the last episode of Series 2 which was written by Stephen Thompson as someone cheerfully pointed out) and you think, if you hate a show so much why oh why are you even bothering to read a review of it and commenting. There seems to be certain type of people who can't bear other people getting real pleasure from something they don't like and love to squish others people joy, plus they seem to feel a deep need to insult those of us who are loving every damn minute of it. Grrrrrr
