First Entry of 2010

Hard to believe it'll be 8 years here on Livejournal soon! I wonder when we reach 10 if LJ gives us anything . . . probably not. ;)

I started out the new year great, ringing it in with Sam at my place. Truth be told, we don't care all that much about "ringing in" the new year. We don't stay up to watch Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve. Another year is another year to us. I prefer staying home to going out with who knows what kind of people on the road.

Still, I loved having him here with me. :) We had some delicious homemade dinners and lunches, which consisted of a chicken sandwich recipe he came up with himself and honey soy chicken for dinner. New Year's Eve I had meatballs with a sauce recipe I got from a friend. It's the simplest of sauces, consisting of only 2 ingredients, and tastes sweet - 1:1 of grape jelly and chili sauce (bought in a bottle). DELISH.

I finally have some bedroom furniture. I got a sweet deal on these at American Furniture Warehouse.

I've been taking Shao Lin Kung Fu classes for almost a month - I haven't been able to go often with my schedule, but I love doing it, and I love what I've learned so far.

The new quarter for school starts tomorrow. After this one is done, I'll have completed my first year of nursing school! I've got some killer hard classes for this one: pathophys, pharm, and advanced principles. I'm already looking forward to the week I have off from class after this quarter. I'll probably work, but it's always nice to have some time off. The only bummer is I'll be working every Saturday for these next 3 months. No 2 day weekend for me :(

I do hope that 2010 brings more positive things in my life. 2009 had a lot of them, and I've been grateful, but I'm ready for more. :)
