Weekend + Yesterday
I never did update this from the last weekend, so I'll try to recount everything as best I can.
Sam and I grilled some DELISH chicken from a recipe he found in one of his mom's cookbooks. All it had was balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper, garlic, and crushed red pepper. The flavor of the balsamic vinegar changed with the grilling. It came out tasing almost kind of sweet. But it was SOOOO good.
We were ready to pop in the last disc of season 3 for Battlestar Galactica, but it turned out we had already finished the season! Now we're waiting on season 4 because it's still on tv. *grumble*
We watched an old movie, Army of Darkness, which I'd heard of but never seen. That was a hilarious movie. We watched some South Park episodes too. We also had watched the movie From Hell, which Sam had never seen, and he liked it. Then we watched a documentary on the martial arts which was actually pretty interesting.
Sunday was Father's Day, and since I don't have my father to celebrate it with, I was invited over to Sam's parents' house for dinner. I got his dad some chocolates and a card; it was the least I could do. Dinner was delicious as well. Huge, thick burgers were the main course, and they were soooo yummy.
I also called my 2 uncles, one of whom is my godfather, to wish them a happy father's day.
So yesterday after work, Kim and Denise (2 girls I work with) and I went to a BBQ hosted by a radiology office. They called it their open house. They gave us a tour of the place, we met a few people, and had some really good BBQ. I had my caricature drawn, which came out looking hilarious, and then at 7 there was an improv comedy team performing. I LOVE improv, since I'm a big fan of the show Whose Line Is It Anyway, so I volunteered to take part in one of the improv games. I made Denise come up with me since she was adamant about not getting her caricature done. We all had a lot of laughs. The group was called Mile High Improv. I'd definitely go see them again somewhere.
Today I have the day off from work, but I may go over there around lunch time. The people who own the campus, Lillibridge, are also having a BBQ for all its tenants. I also need to go back and give my office manager my 401k papers, which I forgot to do yesterday (oops). Then I'll go home and probably just get some sun since it's supposed to be really nice out today. And go to the gym as well. Can't forget that!
