Whew

What a week.

Mom came to visit for Labor Day weekend. It was fun. We went out to eat a bunch, had dinner with Sam at Carrabba's. Mom and I went to the Denver Art Museum and saw some fantastic pieces, but I have to teach mom how to upload the pictures from her camera to her computer, and then e-mail them. That could take a while.

Mom bought a print of Childhood Idyll at the museum shop. She and I went to Michael's to have it framed, and she gave it to me since I have nothing on the walls right now. It's a beautiful picture. All the other paintings and portraits I saw that had children in them or families were all not very attractive. This painting there was the only decent one we saw. However, we did see the original painting of the 2006 Christmas Stamp there. That was beautiful in person. The rest of the time mom and I just hung out and spent time with each other. We didn't really care what we did or where we went. On Labor Day we made margaritas at my place and watched The Lion King 1 1/2. It was fun. :)

So back at work now, and our "winter hours" have started, which means longer days, which then means larger paychecks, which is absolutely fine with me. I have my reasons right now for being happy about working longer hours, but I'll not delve into that here on my public journal.

Tuesday at work, I was cleaning rooms in between patients. I went into the patient bathroom to put a new toilet paper roll on the wall, when I notice a very strong, gross smell. On the counter in the bathroom we have a basket full of sterile cups for the kids to pee in. I had to blink a few more times to believe what I was seeing. Someone had either taken the basket off the counter, or placed it there with their hands. IN the basket, sitting in there with the sterile cups, were 2 very large pieces of POO! I'm talking in between golfball size and baseball size. There was no way they were from a kid. They were too big. RIGHT IN THE BASKET! I just stood there in shock not believing what I was seeing. I got the 2 pieces out, and threw away every cup that they had touched in the basket.

Someone was either mentally disturbed or they didn't like us very much. Ew.

Yesterday was pretty stressful financially. But like I said, I'm not getting into that on here.

Happy tomorrow is payday and friday, and I'm going to be able to get one, maybe two, nightstands for my bed tomorrow. I'll see how I am financially after I pay a couple of bills first.

This weekend Sam and I are going to the Scottish Highlands games at a town called Estes Park. I've seen a lot of nice pictures and heard good things about this place, so I'm looking forward to going there. And it'll be even better with Sam :)

Just gonna hang out here @ home tonight. Still have a headache from this morning that I woke up with. The new guy @ work was getting on my nerves today. Some nosy people were too, but those are two more stories that I don't feel like getting into right now either.
