"Teiresias"
Gryffindors will save the world first and themselves second; Slytherins will save themselves first, and then let the world fend for itself.

When the laws are broken, what of his city then? )

Wow. I had to read it twice to get what on earth was going on (am still not quite sure :) ). Adore the little details.

Oh, um, thanks. The story's basically about Draco foretelling his own death, not liking it, and then doing whatever he can to change his fate - and failing, obviously.

it's like the ray bradbury story about the man who goes to hunt dinosaurs and ends up changing the history of the world. only maybe not so much; i like draco and the tea-reading especially. i'm not sure that's something i've ever seen before, but it adds all sorts of things to his character that makes this work.

and heh. of course he still dies in the end. i find that humorous in the way that inevitable things are.

All he changed was one little thing, as I recall: the identity of the president. But man, did he get bent out of shape over that.

what can i say, i saw the "ray bradbury theatre" version ten years ago. but the image of the butterfly plastered to the side of his boot stuck with me.

I'm still sitting here stunned.

"Draco Malfoy," he says, because there's no sense lying now, not when the world's up and gone.

"Odd name."

"I had an odd father," he says, and they share a smile.

This is, by far by itself, one of the best things I've ever read in fanfiction.

whoooa.

there's not a lot of room to really get to know the character, and in a way that works for the overall story. even though he's still alive, he's almost lost everything that is himself, in a way, leaving nothing for you to really get to know as he tries to prevent his inevitable death. but the atmosphere of this. it's choking, almost. incredibly claustrophobic.

i'ma have to read it another few times. ;)

So austere and yet startlingly brilliant.
