That was great. Love it. House's character kind of lends itself to a sort of disillusioned detective, doesn't it? You're not human to-night, Marlowe. That sort of thing.

holy crap, this is superlative. I'm going to have to read it again (and again) because omg, but for now I can just revel in the details and the *amazing* character observations (particularly about Wilson) and the spot-on dialogue and the tone, which partly comes from your excellent match of character and genre and partly from your just gorgeous prose. Stunning work!
