YO.
So Spring Break is going along rather nicely. I haven't been doing much of anything. I started The Death of the Detective a few days ago, but I haven't gotten very far into it yet. The first chapter sort of intimidated me, but now that I'm a little farther in I'm really enjoying it.
As for the baking scene, all I've made so far is gingerbread with lemon icing. It turned out really well, although something is definitely wrong with the icing recipe. I had to quadruple it, and it still was barely enough. Next time I make it I'll, like, six-uple it for something. I think I'll probably bake again tomorrow. Any ideas what to make, anyone? I'll probably also make cookies on Wednesday or something for B1 to take in for our friends and my old teachers at his school. Hmmm, I'll have to figure out what kind to make.
I finally read Ultimate X-Men Volume 1 yesterday. It was alright. I had pretty high expectations since I've heard such great things about Millar, but honestly I thought the plot was a little all-over-the-place and the writing itself was pretty ho hum. I didn't like The Ultimates Volume 1 all that much either, come to think of it (although I do think I'd like it more now for some reason). Anyway, I'm still hoping to continue reading Ultimate FF and X-Men. I think they'll both get better. And then eventually I'll finish reading The Ultimates. I should be all caught up just in time for Ultimatum to finish destroying everything I love.
YAY!!
OH MAN INVINCIBLE VOLUME 10 COMING OUT SOON. WHENNNN??
Oh my God, Image, get your act together. Seriously.
But anyway. What else? OH, so Passover starts two weeks from Wednesday night. I am kind of totally FREAKING OUT. Gah, there's so much to do and absolutely no time to do it. Plus I'm going to be back in school by the end of this weekend, which will make preparations even more difficult. I'm going to have to come home the following weekend, is what I'm going to have to do. Uggggh I sort of have to not think about it, because if I think about it I can either a) Start working on getting ready, or b) Just sit here stressing about it. And since I can't get started right this minute... Well. Time to distract myself!
B2 is doing his math homework in my bedroom. :-)
I'm going to start turning in my resumes tomorrow for a summer job. I've got my sights set on two places really close to my house; one of them is a cupcakery, and the other is a really high scale cake shop. I'll also give my resume to many, many other places, including the bakery/cafe I worked at last summer, but if I was able to work at one of those two places it would be all kinds of cool.
So how are you all? Anything exciting going on?
