I thought about filling the piñata with nails, but then I filled it with chocolate.

Chag sameach and happy Passover, everyone! I'm a little bummed because this is the first year my family isn't hosting a seder, but I'm trying to have a nice time on my own. I made very festive salmon cakes and potato wedges and chocolate-covered caramelized matzah, and I'm planning on hiding the Afikomen somewhere in my apartment and forcing my suitemate to find it, and so far I'm not feeling too lonely.

Okay, now I need to stop talking about Passover because I am getting really bummed and lonely.

I’m starting to think it was a REALLY BAD IDEA to take two creative writing classes at the same time. I feel a little better knowing that it wasn’t really my choice, since I couldn’t get into these classes in previous years anyway, but still: REALLY BAD IDEA. I spent the whole weekend working on two stories, one of which is shaping up pretty nicely, the other of which really sucks. And I’m just kind of dead to the world now. On the plus side, while taking these classes means that half of the time I never want to look at a word processor ever again, they’re also reminding me why I love writing. So that’s nice.

I had a dream last night that was super long and involved and featured events including (but not limited to) the world splitting apart, a hike to the Coldest Place on Earth, mantis people, a baby that kept morphing or something, and people accusing me of having psychic powers that I was using for nefarious purposes. The best part, though: Various characters from House kept popping up, and at one point Foreman shows up at the Coldest Place on Earth and says, “Don’t worry- I grabbed all the sharpened pencils I could find!” And then Cameron turns to this Random Dream Guy and says, “I know where your pencil went.”

WHY WOULD FOREMAN STEAL ALL THE SHARPENED PENCILS? I DON’T KNOW.

Guys, I’m so tired it’s not even funny. I’m going to go take out my contacts, eat chocolate-covered matzah, and read SPN fanfic. I have such high standards for how I spend my downtime.
