Oh my God, jury duty, stop summoning me. I was uncomfortable with the amount of power I had when being a TA; I do NOT want to be a juror.
I woke up at 4:00 in the morning last night (this morning?) and thought the next day was Friday. Gah, I was confused. Then I couldn't fall back asleep for ~30 minutes because I couldn't stop smiling about the Bones finale.
Speaking of which, it occurs to me: It kind of sucks to be Cam. And Sweets. But mostly Cam. She's just supposed to, what, hang out with the interns for a year? I could see her being okay with hanging out with Wendell or Arastoo, but being alone with VNM, Fisher, or Clark? I think she'd kill herself. I kind of really want Cam and Wendell and/or Sweets to become BFFs. That would be hilarious and wonderful. GO, FIC, GO!
Which reminds me:
Booth knows it's not called Makapupu. He knows because he researched the Maluku Islands the first chance he got. Booth's name may not be on any scientific articles and he may not be all that familiar with the layout of his local library, but he is more than familiar with a little thing called Google.
Booth knows that Ambon is the capital. He knows there are over 1,000 islands. He knows that there are boa constrictors and pythons and komodo dragons. He knows that it's smack on top of an active volcano. He knows there are only two seasons: dry and wet, and wet means monsoons.
He knows it's 5,270 miles from Afghanistan.
And he knows that Bones will be there.
Did I just mini-fic? Did I just mini-fic Bones? OH YES I THINK I DID.
Also, I've decided this song is my Bones S5 finale/potential S6 premiere theme. It's been stuck in my head since yesterday.
You guys would never know it, but I just left for 26 minutes to talk to B1 on the phone. I'm back now.
We're doing peer-editing in my Athenian Literature class, and oh my lord. My classmates? CANNOT WRITE. I don't claim to be a ~fantastic writer~ or anything, but I know how to use apostrophes and spell check and I know how to italicize the titles of plays. I know how to write sentences that aren't four or five lines long. I know that sentences need both subjects and verbs. I know how to use the space bar. My classmates... do not. It's an upper-division Lit class, guys. Put a little gosh darn effort into your work.
The only thing that could possibly combat the evil that is really awful papers is a whole ton of
fic recs.
