Hmmm... some interesting things have happened since I last wrote
So lets see. I apparently did two things on Saturday. I helped a lady out and made sure she got on her flight home and in doing so, screwed myself over. I know that people keep trying to keep me at my current job. Money offered, money increased, money turned down- this is the basic scenario of my life... So I do this nice thing for that lady and take her and her son to the airport and apparently this was a much bigger deal then I really thought it was going to be. Sunday, she emails all the head staff and tons of important people on staff at the University to tell them the wonderful thing I did for her and her son. Well, this gets me a call from the President, Leo, to thank me for what I did. This gets me yelled at (well, given a hard time) from the dean I report to because he didn't know about this. He had no clue what was going on until one of the email recipients forwarded it on to us... I didn't even get copied on the email so people can't complain too much. Go figure.
Sunday, I get told that I am worthless because I can't come up with the answer that this kid wants. He wants to know where room 115 is. It's the mailroom. Dude, you aren't having a meeting in the mailroom on a Sunday. This I know. So I am told, "You are even more worthless then the person at the front desk." Now, normally, the self-loathing version of me would find this hurtful. But for some reason, I found this extremely funny. I am worthless. Awesome. Doesn't really hurt my feelings. Maybe it was because I had an idea that all of this praise was going to come to me this week... who knows. But a bunch of whatev's. Feelings, not hurt.
Anyways, nothing really big has happened in my life really. I am the hot gossip around town which I also find somewhat funny. I like being at people's attention only when I can play like I don't know who I am... There are rumors that Leo came and visited me. I am not sure who started this rumor but it makes me laugh quite a bit. There are rumors I got the call of thanks and a personal visit. To set the record straight, just the call was received - which is way more then I really expected.
Oh, Chicago. I found an apartment at the corner of Montrose and Drake. I laughed a bit at this find. Why? Well, my last name is Drake and one of my friend's is Montrose. We are awesome. We should be an intersection and we should have roads named after us. After all, we are a big deal. Jenn, if we were ever to go into business together, this is where we need to put it!!! How absolutely appropriate?!
Alright, now I am just making up shit to do before I get a call from Monet stating that our dinner date is ON. :)
