Dr. Who Easter Special
Some totally awesome and generous and kind and amazing and saintworthy person in the UK kindly posted the new Doctor Who special on youtube *blesses her*.
I watched it there with not a single iota of guilt - I'll watch it when it shows here in June too. Below are obviously serious spoilers and mention of the preview for the next special without any details.
First, let me just say JAIOE;GRGNDJIRA!!! Ok, so there's the capslock keysmash portion. I'll try to be more coherent from here out.
1) Doctor... How are you so awesome?
2) Same goes for David. Seriously How so awesome??
3) Story. Ok. so a little confusing and occasionally contrived. But this is Doctor Who so that's part of this show's charm. A cool premise for certain.
4) Lady Christina. Did not like her. Didn't find her in the least bit sympathetic. Obnoxious and annoying really. And that's not a fangirl not liking the female character getting schmoozy with my sekrit fantasy boytoy because I adored Rose, Martha and Donna. They were "spunky" without crossing over into shutup! annoying. Sure, they had their moments (notably Donna in the beginning) of being a bit obnoxious. But with reasons to identify with them and even empathise. They were whole persons with loveable characteristics. Not so for Christina who I just spent the whole time wishing she'd shut up and fall into a sand dune already.
5) Malcolm. Awesome. I adored his fanboy glee at speaking with, meeting and being complimented by the Doctor. And naming unites of measurement after himself!! I 100 Bernards and 11 Malcolms agree.
6) Maybe I'm alone, but I wanted Torchwood to show up instead of Unit. Could be I just miss perving over Ianto on that one though. Plus Jack *never* would have tried to make Malcolm close the wormhole before Teh Doctor got through safely.
7) Psychic lady's dire warning. *SOB* *WIBBLE* Foreshadowing!!! *WAIL*
