RIP Derek!!! Ok, so I only started watching this show this year, but WOE!! I liked him and especially his relationship with John. It totally hit my male mentoring kink with the added wrinkle and brain warp of his uncle being both younger *and* older than him and his nephew being both the kid he was being a role model for and mentoring and cheering up - but also his future leader he loyally followed... *now* John only knowing the older man while *now* Derek knew both young semi-vulnerable John as well as *then* larger than life leader John.
And, him being buried in an unmarked grave in the same field as his brother that he himself saw just before he died and said it was a good place to be buried... *SOB*!!
And Future!John having to send both his own father and uncle into the past to their certain deaths... *SOB*!!! *WIBBLE* *WOE*!!! Poor Woobie John!!! *sniffle*
Also, I've got to do something about this new obsession with Numb3rs. Trolling the internet for videos! Cursing CBS for listing really tempting videos of full episodes then luring me into clicking on them only to pop up in red letters that the video isn't available in my area!! and there's so little available on youtube!! I keep watching that over and over!
