Greg Egan wrote a few good bio-scifi that I enjoyed. More than his hard physics ones anyway.

Off the top of my head the only bio-scifi of his I've read was Terenesia, which I enjoyed less than his physics/maths/cs scifi (a)Because I simply didn't think it was as good and (b)because it FREAKED ME OUT. The premise was interesting though.
