I really like this. Such a great look into all their personalities -- and poor Jack, always trying with the bouquets and always failing for reasons beyond his control. And I like the idea of Nadia favoring tiger lilies so much that I hereby declare it fanon!
I really liked this as well. The flowers were all very well chosen. I like that Jack likes daisies and I liked how you conveyed that, through Irina not Jack himself.
Oh, I love the details you put into describing the flowers, and especially the contrast between the bouquet roses and the ones that Emily grew herself.
Ohhhh, Madi, how I love this. It's so vivid and bittersweet and entirely beautiful. I love it when you write these characters, because the fact that you adore them all and understand them entirely just shines through and makes your fics utterly flawless.
I particularly loved the Irina bit (gasp shock!), and the part about her being disgusted at Jack bringing her daisies rang so true and kind of made me desperately pine for Madi-written fanfic about the J/I early days. Of course, considering the fact that I never write you anything, I realize that I have no right to want such things. I blame it on your brilliance. And stuff.
And ohhh, I went and looked at the meanings of all the flowers you mentioned after reading this, and the fact that one of the meanings of pink roses is "please believe me" just made everything even more perfect. Oh, SpyDaddy.
I do love them ever so. I'm glad it shows. (Flawless, pshaw.)
Well, daisies are just glorified weeds! I totally am with Irina on that one. I hate daisies. And sure, go ahead. Pine away, missy. You owe me about a hundred fics.
Yeah, I looked up the meanings after I chose pale pink roses and I was kind of stunned by their appropriateness. However, no matter how thorough SpyDaddy might be, he definitely did not look up the meanings of these flowers before selecting them for his daughter. Because that's just... no.
I'm trying! I have a ficathon fic due on Wednesday that.. um... doom.
However, no matter how thorough SpyDaddy might be, he definitely did not look up the meanings of these flowers before selecting them for his daughter. Because that's just... no.
Hehe, I didn't think of that! That would be a little . . . extreme. But it works really well on a symbolic level, definitely. :D
And oooh, ficathon fic! I am definitely looking forward to reading it. Good luck! (You will so come up with something brilliant.)

Maybe Jack should try giving Nadia tiger lilies.

Tiger lilies just seem so Nadia, I have to agree with you. And maybe Jack could finally get a bouquet right with her.

You should write more often. Like whoa.
