Not much to report... Have been busy at work lately - this week is the last week of term so there have been lots of assignments for me to mark. I've still got a few to go, but at least the end is in sight!
Last week I gave a public astronomy talk, which seemed to go quite well, then today was mid-year dance concert day. With so much going on at work I struggled to learn the routines, so I opted to just help backstage instead. It was odd, but I didn't really miss performing at all.
The excitement is ahead this week - Tuesday is my citizenship ceremony, which I'm still struggling to get my head around - the idea of 'belonging' to two countries.
Next weekend we go on holiday too - First to Uluru, then on to Western Australia to visit the Shark Bay stromatolites (some of the oldest life forms on the planet) and Ningaloo Reef. We're going to zip around in a camper van, which will be quite an experience! I can't wait to get away from it all... I'll definitely miss the parrots though. A friend is house/parrot sitting for us, so they'll be well cared for.
Magic is her usual, extroverted, snuggly self. Phoenix is settling in really well. She's learned a new trick - climbing onto her toy ladder in exchange for a sunflower seed. It makes getting her back into her house a lot easier! Her house is also now next to Magic's so the two of them can chat all day while we're at work. The girls seem to be quite happy, though they still get grumpy if too close to the other.
Well, I think that's all the news for now... More to follow soon...
