So a few years ago My lovely and I were in a ski resort in the run up to Christmas.
It was the Christmas that I was to propose to her.
We were driving along and the local radio announced that it was "Pipes and peppers weekend", a half pipe competition and the chilli peppers playing 2 gigs in a hotel ballroom on the friday and Saturday nights.
I cheered in the car, the saturday gig was sold out but there were tickets available for the Friday night.
I was super excited, till my lovely poured cold water on the occasion by saying "Friday is my families Christmas party, don't you think you should meet as many of them as possible before proposing to me"
D E N I E D
So I didn't get to see them
But a couple of months ago they were playing at a secret London location for BBC Radio 1, the station were giving away hundreds of tickets.
I called every damn time I heard the cue on the radio but to no avail.

Then last week I found out that not only are they touring in the UK in July but they are playing in our town at the local football stadium on July 3rd.
Tickets were sold out so we looked on e-bay, filled with hope we watched the auctions only to see the price sky rocket in the final minutes of each auction, now I am king of the e-bay snipers but this was killing me.
Then on Monday a girl in Mels office walked up to her and said "I hear you are looking for chilli's tickets, we have 2 spare that I can sell you at face value"
WOO HOO
But on Wednesday Mel got an e-mail from her saying that the girls friend had changed her mind about wanting the tickets so she had sold them to her instead
YOU GET THE IDEA
Till yesterday, one of the guys I work with is an Aussie, he suggested thegumtree.co.uk, it is a postings site for Aussies and Kiwis in the UK.
It had loads of tickets for the Earls Court gigs in the middle of July and only a few for our one.
E-mail after e-mail came back saying "already sold them, sorry"
But yesterday evening one came back saying that the person still had 2 to sell at face value.
So fingers crossed, tomorrow I will meet the chap (he works in Central London and I am in town working for the day anyway) and swap some bland cash for the tickets.
Pray for me
