Yup, but leather straps don't fold up into teeny-tiny packages that you could fit discreetly into a shirt pocket.

Plus the buckles make the airport metal detectors go BEEP and you have to spend ages explaining to the security guard that, no, you don't actually want to handcuff yourself to the Pilot...
