AAAAWWWW Alison !!!! I'm so sorry for you... and for you poor Bea !!! Animals can take so much place in our life... really !!!!
This poor cat seems to have had a pityful and wild existence before to know you and your family... but she finally found a sweet home, indeed, at the end !!!!
I bet you probably would prefer to be on her side, now... ... as you certainly are more than exciting to be back hope to pet your adorable kitten !!!! ♥
I didn't know this race !!!! Really handsome !!!! (still I don't know if it's the correct term for kitten ! lol !!! but it was the first word that came into my mad mind !!!! XD
( ... )
Thank you for your very kind words about Bea. I can always count on you to reply.
And it would be nice to spend time with my cat but it's not realistic. I'll be home in 5 weeks anyway and then I'll be able to spend as much time with her as she likes.
You can say 'race' but for animals you usually say 'breed'. And I'm not surprised you hadn't heard of Siberian cats because they're rare (except in Russia where they're just common cats!). Our cat will probably be one of only a few Siberians in Ireland.
Geoffrey would be good for a male cat. But she's a girl. ;D And we, like you, thought of naming her after a famous Russian (the breeder is a Russian woman and all her cats have Russian names) - but most famous Russians are men. So it's getting very difficult. It's hard to find the perfect name for such a unique little cat.

For your kitten's name, why don't you make some searches on a translator site, and type some words you like from English to Russian ?! (like 'sweetie', 'adorable'... or whatever ?) Russian language is so beautiful ! I bet you'll find some great names !!!
Thanks for the suggestion. I think Russian is a beautiful sounding language as well, but we already tried it on a few sites and unfortunately not only does it translate the words but it also writes them in the Russian alphabet! Unless I can find a site that also gives the sound/English spelling of the words!

Bloody sites !
But I think Reverso uses the spelling sound.
I know a Russian on LJ, if you want, I can ask her the names you would like into our alphabet !
Or maybe you could use some beautiful Russian first names, like Nouchka, (I had a rabbit called like this !!!) or Michka...
If your kitten would have been a male... you could call him "Trotsky" ! XD
