I'm off to England tomorrow to pick up the new kitten. My mother and I are flying to Bristol in the morning and then renting a car to drive to our hotel, which is near where the cat breeder lives.
(^Snow in Reading, near where we'll be staying)
It's only about 2-2 1/2 hours drive, but the problem is that it's snowing in the UK. Really badly. I mean Bristol should be fine, but we'll be driving straight into the midlands to one of the worst affected areas in a rented car (and my mother's not great with cars other than her own) during the last weekend before Christmas. It'll probably be dark before we get to our hotel, as we don't pick the car up until 2:30pm and it's usually dark by about 4:30 at this time of year. Plus we'll be driving back on Sunday morning with a kitten. I pray that we'll be able to get to our hotel, and to the breeder's little village and that the kitten will be okay.
If we manage to pull it off, I really hope that Nouchka and the new kitten get along! We're getting a new one because she really needs a friend, I just hope that the kitten doesn't have a bossy or very weak (pushover) temperament. The kitten will spend the first few days in a room on her own so that Nouchka can get used to her smell and because it's a really bad idea to put the two face to face as soon as the kitten comes in the door.
Oh yes and I'll be on a side mission to try to get to a
River Island (clothes store) to get a pair of boots that I tried on in Ireland and were PERFECT only they only had my size in cream (and who honestly wears cream coloured boots all the time?). Even if they have the boots the chances of finding them in a UK size 6 (which has got to be about the most common size) a week before Christmas, are pretty slim... I can still hope! The annoying thing is that River Island have a website but they won't sell to people in Ireland (that's very typical; it sucks living in Ireland, especially since we have all these UK stores and they mark all the prices way up when they convert from Pounds to Euro, which is probably one of the reasons why they won't sell to Ireland because the UK prices are noticably cheaper...).
Anyway, that's my silly rant, don't feel that you have to read it! Wish us the best of luck because we're going to really need it! Have a great weekend, all of you!
