Gilgamesh says, "Merely a smile from Dame Fortune. Given the month I had, I could have just as easily gone to the mead hall. Or Jack's."
Badriya's head cants. "But you did not," she points out.
Gilgamesh says, "No. I was lucky enough to crave Alhambran instead."
Something flickers briefly in Badriya's glance at Gil, but whatever it is, it's gone quickly. She lifts her cup, and says with irony, "Yes. Our coffee is... unsurpassed." Her lips twitch, once, as she suppresses a smile.
Gilgamesh says, "And addictive." He sips. "It's hard to get the taste out of your mouth, once blessed with it."
Badriya leans in, lowering her voice to ask, "A connoisseur, hm?" She rests her chin on her hand, elbow on the table, looking to Gil with lifted brows.
Gilgamesh says, "Unfortunately, I've rarely had a chance." There's a remorseful, yet mischievous glint in his eye. "We only passed through from time to time, I've never really been able to dig in and sample the variety. But compared to other coffees, from other places? Unsurpassed."
Badriya straightens from her lean, lifting her chin off her hand and letting that hand rest on the table, fingers idly trailing there. She says, easily, "Well, Gilgamesh Karm, perhaps Dame Fortune will continue to smile upon you."
Gilgamesh grins, both his elbows now on the table, supporting his cup. "One can dream."
Badriya regards Gil for a long moment, a faint smile curving her lips, gaze unwavering. Finally, she says, "One can."
