Ceramics day

Nov 19, 2004 16:09

Today was another ceramics filled day. Since my hands are raw and my back hurts, I didn't throw today; all I did was trim and glaze. I was still in the studio for 8.5 hours. My teacher (let's call him Trent from now on) was having his own firing. The kiln was filled with his work along with a little of mine and his wife's. Trent came in while I was working and said, "the kiln went out, so, we're fucked." I was in such a state of shock, I completely blanked out, I can't remember a thing! oh, oops, that's from Chicago, sorry, got carried away. Really though, I was terribly shocked, I didn't know what to say. Fortunately, he was finally able to get it going again, but we won't know if the pieces were effected or not until the kiln is opened. Trent left before I was finished working and he came back a couple hours later and said, "wow, you're hard core!" I really am. I don't think I ever put in this much time and effort while doing my photography work.

I'm moving out; Ritter to Farley. I will be rooming with Leah and Hilary is going to move in with Laura. This way we can all be in the same building together, yay!
