He'd earned some money from battling the monsters, so why not? The letter bee approached and stood beside the girl, with a slight smile. "Would you like something from here?"

Attention turns from the display beyond the class to a reflection that had come to appear at her side. One ear turns to the side, in his direction, showing that she's listening despite her focus being on his reflection instead of the physical form.
He was offering to buy her something from the shop?
As the fact sinks in, her eyes widen and her head turns - tilting up just a slight bit so that she could look at him with delight. It certainly was a kind gesture and who was she to decline him? If there was food involved then it would definitely be rude to say no.

Perhaps a little, to some people, but then again who was she to judge just exactly what "strange" was. She was someone who would go right up and headbutt someone if they were crying too much over spilt milk or toss a person onto her back without too much of a warning to them. So someone offering her food (whether it was them buying it or sharing what they were already having) was a little more commonplace to the wolf.
Amaterasu gives him a small shake of her head and a small smile afterward, one ears flicking to the side as the other keeps positioned towards him.
Let him know what she wanted? Then...she could get anything she wanted? If so, that meant that she would do her best to not ruin his pocket too much and her attention, once again, turns to the window as she looks inside. Maybe that loaf of bread and that piece of meat? She asks herself, frowning in thought.
"Mm."

When he actually spotted the Three Brothers soup from Yuusari, he had to do a double-take. How was it possible to have food from his country in this foreign place? It was only a local store! He was quick to grab an armful of cans and turned back to the woman, giving a nervous laugh. "A-ah, go right ahead and get anything, on me."

This was something that she really could not help but smile at.
Had he found something good? The armful of cans is enough to make her wonder - it's also enough to get her to wander over and take over whatever personal space he may have had by standing a little closer than should be, hands just shy of actually pressing down against his arm, and poking her nose down in the general vicinity of those cans. They really don't give off too much of a scent, she notices, whenever she gives them a curious sniff.
So, if she couldn't smell them, she might as well give one of the cans a small poke.

"These-- These are the Three Brothers' canned soup from my country! I'm amazed that they have them here. They really are quite delicious and you're welcome to have some after we've paid for them. They're very convenient to carry and easy to make, so I tend to buy them for my deliveries alongside a bag of apples to properly restore my heart after tiring encounters."
She certainly didn't talk much, did she? Come to think of it, he didn't even know her name.

She looks up to him when he speaks, only half-interested in the explanation the he provides. Three Brothers was definitely something that she had never heard of before and it made her wonder what country he was from and what sort of place it might be. The hand that had been poking at the can withdraws and returns to where it had been previously placed on his arm.
"Restore my heart after tiring encounters." A thoughtful repeat of the words and it causes her eyes the narrow a little as her lips press into a thing line. "Mm," there was a seriousness there, in her little response, as though she understood.
She could definitely relate to that. After encounters with demons, helping out people that she came across, and protecting Nippon from darkness...lots of good food (and plenty of rest) was definitely most needed for such things.

"My apologies, I haven't even introduced myself, have I? My name is Gauche Suede, and my profession is a Letter Bee for the Amberground Government. I deliver letters and packages between towns."

The tail beneath her kimono twitches at things he says that sound odd and unusual. Letter Bee? Amberground Government? There was nothing like that in Nippon so it would have to mean he was from a different place. The thought brings a slight frown upon Amaterasu's face and a soft whine passes her lips.
The mood, however, doesn't last long; not when her ears catch that last bit about deliveries. She stands straight, a loaf of bread in each hand, and turns to him with slight surprised excitement in her eyes.
Deliveries! She knew people who did that! They were fast on their feet and during races sometimes they could would pull a move that could be considered cheating, by some, but it was always fun (and she tended to win, in the end). Was he fast? Perhaps they could race ( ... )

He began walking towards the counter to pay for their goods, assuming she was done-- perhaps she was trying to restrain herself from spending too much...? He had noticed her staring at the sausages earlier. It didn't take but a split second for him to decide to grab a string of them and set them on the counter with everything else. He made a motion for her to add the breads to the table as well, so the store clerk knew that everything was together.

Her ears flick to the side then, brown eyes closing for a fraction of a second as she ponders the question. She had forgotten to introduce herself back, hadn't she? Ah, he must think of me as rude, she thinks, eyes open as a apologetic look takes place of the normal calm that always masks her face.
To him, she offers a small bow of her head in extended apology.
I am terribly sorry. She really wants to say, even as her mouth opening in a momentary lapse of forgetfulness and her lips move to form the silent sentence: Amaterasu, it's very nice to meet you.

The shopkeeper waited patiently, but Gauche turned as though he'd been reminded and fiddled with the pouch of money, dumping some on the counter so the Shopkeeper could fish out the right amount and he could work out the currency. All of the pieces were the same with no defining features, but he didn't know how much each was worth. The total had only been 380, and he took four pieces. 100 each? He didn't receive a difference of change, so maybe they just rounded up. The deliveryman put the rest of the slightly rounded gold discs back in the pouch and turned his attention back to the wolf girl, handing her the loaves of bread and half the sausages.

She takes the offered items and holds them against her body, attention torn away from the movement of both his own and the shopkeeper's hands. It was fluid motions, something that she did enjoy watching, because the way that people used their hands was different and the variety was intriguing to say the least. From the way they spoke to how they held themselves, regardless of class and situation, Amaterasu...really did find people to be fascinating.
"Ah!"
Right, right, he had asked her to repeat her name! It had honestly gone and slipped her mind for the briefest of moments.
With a small nod of her head in confirmation the woman does it again, moving her mouth a little more slow this time in the formation of her name: A-ma-ter-a-su.

He bowed his head briefly and smiled, turning from the counter. "Would you care to join me for a late lunch?"
Reply
Well, that went beyond kind, really.
He reminded her a lot of the people back in Nippon, all of the friends and acquaintances that she had made and just how far all of their kindness had gone. It made her heart swell to remember and a smile paints her face - large and happy and almost playful.
"Mm!" She nods her head in agreement (and also another brief bow of the head in a return acknowledgment of their meeting - it was a pleasure for her as well). She would very much enjoy joining him for lunch.
