Sadly, she could not speak, but at least there was always body language and expressions to get across what would be needed to say. Or, at least, the general idea of things like that.

She gives him a small shake of her head, hair following the motion and long strands of the ponytail falls across her shoulders. No, no, it was fine. Things like this are bound to happen and it would be hard to take offense to such things, unless the name of who the other person had called was someone they disliked. Her brows furrow in thought at that.

It reminded her of the wary folks in Nippon, back when she and Issun had gone through the Spirit Gate to find Lika. They had gone a hundred years back in time and they had all mis-identified as the Shiranui of their time. Ah, she raises a hand and scratches behind one of her ears with longer-than-normal nails, that had been quite an embarrassing time. But at least it had all worked out well in the end.

But her attention snaps back to the present - out of the thoughts that had seemed to swallow the wolf up - and Amaterasu settles her gaze once again upon the other.

Was something the matter? There seemed to be as though there was on his mind or bothering him a bit now that the mistake of identity had been cleared.

Her tail... A dog of some sort? Amy's hair had been neatly combed like most female hedgehogs, but the fact remained that she had quills. Even as a human, his hair had retained it's spiky and slightly stiff appearance. Shadow watched the expressions flit across the other player's face for a moment before continuing.

"You just arrived, didn't you?" he asked plainly. Simple yes or no questions would probably work best in this sort of situation.

Curiosity was no good, but he needed a few more people to fall back on... At least until he was a high enough level to go off on his own. What a stupid game.

Yes or no questions are definitely one of the the best way to go about things, especially with someone who was lacking some sort of essentials to communicate. Even though she had the relic tucked safely away the wolf had no clue how to go about working it properly.

She pushes away from the window, body turns just enough so that she is now fully facing him without the angle and language of her body seeming as though she had only been half-acknowledging his presence just moments earlier. Despite being a goddess that had appeared to those in the form of a wolf, she was able to discern (at times) her behavior between a human and an animal. This would definitely be such a time.

"Mm." She nods to the question. It had been about a day or so ago, but she was still relatively new to such a place. Being taken away from those that she knew, the land that she was to be protecting with watchful eyes, kept her a little down but Amaterasu did her best to keep such things from showing.

Shadow eyed her cautiously. Or maybe he was just looking at her curiously despite all his attempts not to? It's really quite hard to tell with that permanently severe expression of his. In spite of all that he's gone through, the fact remained that Shadow was raised aboard a space colony before spending 50 years in suspended animation only to lose all his memories once more. This sort of curiosity wasn't something he could squash....

But it wasn't as if it was particularly hard to hide either.

He scoffed softly. If she had been a native from around here, maybe she would have been more forthcoming... But judging from how all the 'natives' did act, Shadow might as well have been having conversations with the robots that he always destroyed (Omega was his one exception). What a waste.

Now if only that annoying voice in the back of his head telling him to shut up and socialize would kindly go away.

"What were you looking at?"

The entire time she had just been standing there, a small look of boredom across her face. The way he was looking at her went by unnoticed and she gives the area around them both a look around. There were people on the other side of the street - coming and going - and she watches them for a moment before her attention return to Shadow.

There is a quick twitch of her ears before they droop a little.

Despite being used to dealing with people with all sorts of different personalities, and even having to deal with her own children's, Amaterasu really could not really help but wish for more conversation to be going on; it really didn't matter what would be spoken about. Just...something. (And if she was able to, she would have initiated a topic on her own.)

But the question catches her attention and she motions her head towards the window. Just the meats and breads. She wants to say, finger pointing to a couple of the items beyond the glass.

His own ears twitch when she motions towards the window. Food... He'd just about forgotten that he hadn't eaten in a while. As the ultimate lifeform and courtesy of being created using Chaos Emeralds, he didn't have to eat. Being raised on a space colony (or maybe it had something to do with his own nature), he had taken to trying to be as efficient as possible.

So eating had been lowered on his list of priorities.

"... Were you waiting for someone to buy you something?" Shadow asked, arms crossed in front of him as he walked over to look at the display. He couldn't see the appeal at all. "That just makes you seem like a stray. Or out of the ordinary."

There goes that Rouge voice again. Even when she wasn't around, that bat still found some way of annoying him.

A stray?

Had he really just gone and said something like that?

She turns to him, expression more than unamused from that line alone and nothing else. What did he take her for? She was not standing around for a reason such as that (though, if they did offer, she really would not be one to turn them down). Anyway, Amaterasu viewed such things as something akin to the offerings that people gave to the gods. Even if they were unaware of her stature, it was not too high of her to believe such things, right?

She just huffs at him in slight annoyance.

All that she had been doing was browsing the shops from the outside when this one had caught her particular attention.

Yes, yes he had.

Shadow was a creature of science and one that was brought up in a rather secluded environment. Sadly, the closest he's ever come to an encounter with a deity involved a certain creeper and his 'father'. As to be expected, Shadow has taken to ignoring those memories in favor of more productive things.

He chuckled quietly at her reaction. "Out on the fields, you can defeat monsters to earn the currency used here."

This is definitely something that will not be forgotten anytime soon, that's for sure.

Somewhere in the time frame of her huff and his chuckle, Amaterasu had crossed her arms against her chest to further show her mood. She may have been called plenty of things back in Nippon that may have sounded a little worse than the word "stray" but, to her, it was definitely an insult.

She snorts.

To the information he offers up, however, she gives him a vague look of mild interest.

Monsters out on the fields? Are they demons? The demons back on Nippon offered up yen and ink pots whenever they were defeated, sometime even Demon Fangs when the right move was use, so hearing something like this definitely grabs her attention. But she does her best to keep that fact as hidden as possible, despite the fact that her ears have come to move forward a bit and the look in her eyes give it away.

Karma will get back to Shadow eventually.

Unlike Sonic, who was at a 'hero' through and through, Shadow was less likely to help someone else unless it furthered his own agenda... So no fun food times this time around Ammy.

His own ears twitch before Shadow turned around to walk away. Then again, that girl kinda reminded him of Silver, how they seemed to have missed the memo regarding the present situation. Not that... Shadow had been much better off. Somewhere, at some time, Mephiles is laughing at him.

"That device you woke up with," he points at the pouch at her side, "you can use it to warp to the other fields. But only in the room you woke up in."

Thankfully she is unable to equip Divine Retribution and the thought of headbutting him for saying such a thing had passed quickly.

All she does is stand there and watch him as he walks away, eyes narrow a small degree in thought as they linger on his back. Definitely, if his hair was longer and his attire was different, he could easily pass as Oki. But he doesn't seem to be walking for too long before he's turning and her eyes widen in slight surprise.

Her pouch?

She pulls the red kimono to the side and looks at what he's pointing at. Oh, that thing. She knew exactly what device he was talking about but was still uncertain about certain things with it. Warp to other fields. It could be used for that as well? She only knew that it was used to communicate if the need seemed to arise.

"Ah." Is that so.

The kimono falls back to its place as she looks back up at him; and while it may not look it, there was a slight shift of her body and a small. change of expression on her face. It appears as though she is a little thankful for his words. They will be definitely (oh so definitely) helpful in the future.
