She was exploring this world on her own, with only the slightest of ideas where she was. The people she found seemed lifeless, with very few that lived beyond merely appearance. People like Haku and Gauche - she wondered where they were now.

Stepping into the shop, she called out, "Good morning!" That was when she spotted a person she had seen earlier, before Gauche had approached them for the event. "Oh, hello!" She moved further on in, distracted easily by the numerous weapons displayed before her eyes. "Wow..."

Lotto glanced up at the sound of an actual, real person, and gave a lazy nod in her direction. "Hey." So polite.

He looked briefly back at the weapons, then at her again. "Don't bother getting so excited - they're all for higher levels or out of our price range - unless you've found some way to make extra cash since that leprechaun quest?"

"Huh?" Gracia asked, looking at the girl, own at the weapons, and then back up again. "Oh, no, I wasn't thinking about buying any." There was nothing remotely similar to her bracelets and she wouldn't give them up for anything. How strange that she had two books, one give to her by Kain, the other she somehow had on that strange but beautiful field.

She held her hands out, displaying the bracelets she wore. "With these, I don't need any weapons."

Though, she supposed others would have to upgrade their weapons, like Mago needed to clean his gun out every so often. "Which one are you eyeing?"

Bracelets? They had to be magical, although Lotto had no idea what kind of magic they might hold, and it was far too early to speculate. "I was looking at this one," he sighed, poking at a sign reading 'SPIN KOUGA' in front of a pair of blades. "I have to be at level four to use it though, so there's a while to go yet." Not to mention he'd need the money - better to let someone steal something and see how good the city guards were before he tried it himself.

Lotto stepped back a little and looked her over more speculatively. "You were here for that leprechaun-kicking quest, weren't you?" It sounded even more stupid when you put it like that.

Peering over at the pair of blades, Gracia regretted her lack of knowledge of swords. She had never cared much for them, even if the many soldiers she had both fought against and with often used them. They looked nothing like the long katana her father was deadly with... And it was a pair, wasn't it? Was it to balance the user out?

The mention of the leprechaun made her turn around, smiling. "That's right! You were talking to Haku, weren't you? Haku, Gauche and I were on the same team." Still smiling, she introduced herself, "I'm Gracia. What's your name?"

Haku-? Oh right, that guy. The one who actually seemed sane, much like this woman. Why hadn't he got one of them on his team?

"Yureka. Nice to meet you!" He gave a small bow, smiling sunnily, throwing his 'charming young lady' act into full-force. "How are you getting on in this world?"

"It's nice to meet you, Yureka."

The other girl's bright deposition reflected back in Gracia's face. "I've been doing well. I really like this place!" Life here really wasn't all that different from the vagrant lifestyle that Mago led. Because of her experience travelling, she found herself quite at home here, even if it was dangerous to sleep out in the fields. "What about you?"

"Ah, well..." Lotto shrugged easily, still smiling. "Can't say I wouldn't like a proper bed to sleep in, and better facilities -" (having to use the ones open to the public was just annoying) "- but pretty well, all told." Not entirely a lie, either. "The city's interesting enough."

'I really like this place!' Gracia had said. What a nutcase. Who could possibly like being trapped in this place - unless where she'd come from was worse, of course.

Clueless and ignorant of what thoughts Yureka was really thinking, Gracia considered the girl's words. Proper bed? Better facilities? Maybe Yureka wasn't used to such living; she wondered if the other was the same as her, before she had chosen to run away. "Do you miss your home?" she asked, curious.

Miss it? "Of course," Lotto replied, not even having to think about the answer. This girl was too sweet to use it against him. "My family, my friends, my classmates..." Okay, not his classmates. But his original body was probably lying in a hospital bed now, with the presumption that he'd fallen prey to a Killer, none of the people he cared about knowing any differently.

He stared at the girl, amazed. "Don't you miss anyone?"

For a moment, Gracia's face slipped a little as she thought of her father, her mother, her siblings and -- him. But she had left home and family behind to explore the world... And to run away from that as well. There was a trace of regret remaining still, but it had allowed her to meet Mago.

That, alone, was enough.

"Yes," she said, smiling. "I miss my pal very much." Being without Mago by her side was strange. Even so... "But I know he'll be here soon! After all, friends don't leave each other behind, no matter what."

He resisted the urge to raise a disbelieving eyebrow at that - as if anyone could find a way here, any more than they had so far found a way out - but whatever floated her boat.

Shrugging at the ridiculous optimism, Lotto smiled in return, as though he actually believed that swill. "If anyone can get here, it'll definitely be my team." 'They're so thick-skulled and stubborn, they could headbutt their way through dimensional barriers' is what he felt like saying, but would ever-so-slightly mess up his persona.

"Your team?" Gracia asked, interested. "Ah, your friends?" She placed her fists on her hips now, a mischievous grin on her lips. "You've never met Mago yet, Yureka! He's the greatest pal I ever have and nothing will stop him from coming here to find me. When he gets here, I'll let you two meet, okay?"

... Right. Sure.

"That sounds great!" Lotto smiled, wondering how long he could keep it up before his mouth started to hurt. "He must be a nice guy, seeing how fond you are of him. My own team are crazy enough to make you pull your hair out." He laughed as though joking, even though he was being perfectly honest.

"They sound really fun," Gracia said. "I do hope I get to meet them soon, Yureka!" She stepped in a circle, looking around at the store and back down at the other girl. "Let's do a quest together next time, okay?"

They're lunatics, Lotto avoided saying. He grinend happily thoguh, because she was a cleric and sane and useful - it was like a miracle. "Sounds good to me! I'll see you around then, Gracia."
