Self Indulgent
Eight thirty to five is having the unexpected side effect of making me cook more. There aren't any places to go for food around my new work except subway and MacDonalds. Neither appeals to me, so I've been actually making food the night before. Madness.
I still really like it there. I have bunches of plants now, which was definitely an unexpected thing coming from an office job, but that means that I've finally installed fluorescent light fixtures in my windows for the plants (it just helps a little cause I don't get a lot of sun in my back windows)
I may splurge on either building supplies for, or an actual plant stand so that I can start my tomatoes indoors without mayhem this year. I need to figure out how to dry and preserve tomato seeds for this year too, as buying seeds once you've found a tomato you love seems rather redundant given the large quantity of fruit.
I'm starting to feel like I'm actually helping at work, which is nice. Not completely relaxed yet, though, as was demonstrated by my voice leaping octaves on the phone today due to nerves. Haha. Luckily the receptionist I was talking to didn't seem to care and transfered me appropriately.
I like that I don't sit still in one place all day and that, despite the fact that I'm paid for 8 hours, I get a 45 min lunch and a 15min break. (still have to answer the phone if it rings, but I can drink coffee and snoop about on facebook whilst doing so)
Hawaii is happening. I am getting more and more excited as I check out different hostels and such...I think I'll just rent a bike for all travel with the possible exception of getting to wherever I'm staying from the airport...although, I might just use my sister's gigantic backpack of doom and then I can totally still bike or walk anywhere I need to go.
I haven't been practicing as much as I'd like, though, I guess I'm still adjusting to this new schedule - I think I shall go over to facebook and play about with scheduling practice times... glee.
