Mo-cember

Another new word for Esme this week is No. She's been trying to say it for ages, shaking her head enthusiastically and insistently, but had not yet matched a sound to the action. But now the head shake is accompanied by a loud and outraged shout/squeal of "MO". I love it. Do you want to go to bed? "MO" Are you going to give Daddy a ba? (Kiss) "MO!!!" Shall I have a cup of tea? "MO" I can't help it, I've started saying it too. And she knows it makes me giggle so she's been saying it even more.
THis was taken a few minutes ago. She's saying "teeeee" which is how she says cheese. She is every bit as cheeky as that face makes her look, and possibly even more so. Currently she's standing on top of one of my laundry baskets and dancing to the Mr Benn theme music, flapping her arms up and down and bopping her bum. CHEEKY. Orlaith and I had a pleasant afternoon. I bought her a copy of George's Marvellous Medicine the other day, along with a couple of other Roald Dahl books missing from our collection. So we spent the afternoon reading about horrid old Grandma and George's attempts to teach her a lesson. I tried to stress how naughty George was being and that you shouldn't really do the things he does in the book, and she was quite horrified by some of the goings on, so hopefully she won't try to make her own pot of marvellous medicine. But if you hear of an almost four year old poisoning her younger sister and her parents in South London, you'll know what happened.
