Esme and I had a day together yesterday while Jake took Orlaith to the beach with her uncle Louie and cousin, Monte.
She had a wonderful day playing with her Aunties lisa and Cotti and her little (big) cousin Eliza. Eliza took great pleasure in bossing Esme around. She's normally the youngest one so she enjoyed the chance to be Boss Cocky.
And Esme tried some new words out. We went for a walk on Tuesday with Orlaith and Monte, first thing in the morning before it got too hot. We spotted a kookaburra in a tree and I was pointing it out to Orlaith when there was this tiny little voice in my ear (Esme was on my back in the sling) whispering "Kooka. Kooka."
She's also taken a real liking to the word 'car' and yesterday she said 'cow' and 'baaa' while pointing at a sheep on some fabric I was working with. (I'm making hats for all the kids.)
So she's coming along in leaps and bounds. The screaming thing is starting to settle down a bit. I can now do magic 1 2 3 with her and she stops screaming before I get to 3. Marvellous.
Orlaith had a superb day yesterday and came home shouting 'I tasted that great big sea again Mama!" She fell off her boogie board and got rolled away by some big waves - I think Jake and Louis almost had heart attacks cause they could see her lying under the water looking up at them but not really getting up. She was fine though, she cried a bit and then wanted to go jumping in the waves again, but I think that was it for the boogie board after that. Poor old Jake must have gotten such a fright.
Anyway, I have a doctor's appointment to get to so I must away!
