#102 - Bitch, why you gotta play me like that?
so i'm still slightly intoxicated from my saturday night of tequila, beer, popcorn and watching THE worst hip hop oriented movie in the universe (aka Honey) w/ Darlo and Felix. Its hilarious how fake Jessica Alba sounds speaking in hip hop jargon... but still using the whitest sounding accent EVER. ("Yo man, we're peoples. Y'naw mean?"). I hadn't gone drinking in quite a while... so tonight was a familiar and pleasant feeling.
Haven't written in this bitch in a while so here i go:
- just finished three full day shifts in a row... man i thought that was hard but in two weeks i got a FULL WEEK of work. fuck. AND i don't get to go to any out of towners with felix/chris. damn.
- summer has been treating me well so far. lots of chilling... seeing my usual home people and missioning ALL OVER downtown toronto. i know the city like the back of my hand now...
- fuck the AGO... biggest disappointment EVER
- arrrgh i fucking hate mosquito bites...
- i think i'm done with weed... for good. this thought kind of occured to me while i was nursing a headache yesterday... like, the whole wonder and excitement of it has worn off. Thinking things are funny and feeling light headed for 40 something minutes then getting REALLY tired afterwards isn't really worth it... i'd rather drink lol. say bye bye to my liver.
- so today on the car ride over to the LCBO we were having a discussion about... oddly... the future lol. about how everybody's relationships will change in one way or another. people will stop talking or see less of eachother now... and it kinda bums me out how this IS inevitable. but i only hope that i do keep in some sort of contact with a handful of kids that i really can call my friends... yeah... i dunno why but that thought just occured to me now. you know what, i'll stop now and get emotional about it later on... maybe when the summer comes to a close. lol

Novel: Love Monkey by Kyle Smith - Funny... then boring... then funny. On and off entertainment.
Novel: The Fuck Up by Arthur Nersesian - Very well written book, in my opinion. lol i love the random events that just happen to fuck this "fuck up"... up. Hated how it ended, though.
CD: The Futureheads "The Futureheads" - ... bleh. I like a couple songs but after a while the album in its entirety gets KINDA annoying.
CD: The Strokes "First Impressions of Earth" - Not as good as Room on Fire... but a pretty damn good cd STILL. You Only Live Once... the fuking best song.
CD: Imogen Heap "Speak For Yourself" - If you like Frou Frou... or the Postal Service or any other of those unclassifiable types of music that make profuse use of keyboard synths and vocals that could lull a pitbull to sleep AND break glass... buy this cd. for the love of christ buy this cd.
CD: Broken Social Scene "You Forgot It In People" - i personally liked it... but i'm not sure this is for everybody. Go download this if you liked Broken's latest album OR if you like Sufjan Stevens OR if you're cool.
CD: Mix Master Mike "Spin Psycle" - GENIUS... PURE GENIUS. If you're a tableism fan... or just really like hype break beats, i suggest you pick this up right away.
CD: Jurassic 5 "Quality Control" - I think this is a classic album. The MC'ing isn't the greatest in the world... but the old school influenced beats and content that they speak out about impressed me quite a bit. Conscious (or however u spell it) hip hop is the way to go... and they're one of the heavy hitters in the genre.
Mix CD: "Trips to Ann Arbour" is what Althea called her collection of her sister's music that she really liked. And i really like it too... very eclectic mix of things going from J-Pop to Electro-pop to alternative to house. Tis' quite good. i REALLY like these two songs Don't Stop by Brazillian Girls and You Don't Send Me by Belle & Sebastian. SO CATCHY. Thank you very kindly, Ms. Balmes for the lovely gift =D. lol.
