Alfred sprinted out to the parking lot, the keys to his brand new car in hand. He was determined not to lose these keys because the dealership only gave him one extra set upon request. He ran down the second aisle of cars until he came to the spot where his shiny red convertible was parked. He took a moment to appreciate the way he could see his reflection on the hood when the light hit it just right. He wanted to make sure it would always look like that.
This would be his first time taking the roadster out for a drive, so needless to say, he was beyond excited. Sure, he had driven the car home from the dealership yesterday, but that didn’t count. Today, he’d actually get to take a joy ride! Well, Kiku did say he had a couple of errands to run, but AFTER that, they were going to just drive for the hell of it, top down of course. And he couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day for this occasion. The rain clouds had decided to take a break from hanging over the school and had moved on. The sun was shining, and there was a bit of a breeze, which would only add to the experience of riding in a convertible. He had never driven one before; he had always driven an SUV of some kind, or in one horrible instance for his driver’s ed in car lessons, a minivan. Cool people did NOT drive minivans, and only the threat of flunking driver’s ed had forced him into the car…
But this was by far the smallest car he had ever driven. Not that that was a bad thing though… He grinned as he realized what he could do with this car that he couldn’t with his cars back home. Pressing his hand down on the car door for support, he jumped into the driver’s seat, without opening the door. He had seen that done in the movies, and now he could say he actually did it! He was very pleased with himself…
So he had the keys, the car, and his liscence… All that was missing was someone to fill shotgun. He knew he had only given Kiku five or ten minutes to get ready, but Alfred wasn’t very patient. Pulling out his phone, he sent his friend a text.
-Kiku; you coming?
