I've had an email from Mum which had this splendid first paragraph:

"There is a report about that indicates that life-forms still exist at no. removed Park House Gardens… a sound of clicking can be heard if you enter the premises, and this correlates well to the sound of a computer keyboard being tapped. Occasionally, it is interrupted by a loud shout of “Tea time” answered by “You mean Supper!” and then a clattering and chattering emanating from the one room in the house with an obvious easily accessed source of heat."

It is also getting warmer and sunnier again. Yesterday, after reading in the UL for most of the morning, writing an essay over lunch-time, writing out Old English in the afternoon and reading a C.S. Lewis essay in the bath in the evening - well, I went a bit odd. I do generally do very strange things just after reading the most sober and sensible bits of C.S. Lewis - I think the style of his writing must exercise some hypnotic effect on me. Anyway, I started trying to write Latin poetry. Hexameters, to be precise. I got four very presentable feet strung together, but then came acropper over the need to find a dactyl.

Having a small dalek on my key-ring is proving to be a dangerous inspiration. In my mind, the Dalek Horde advances - chanting "CON-JUG-ATE!" donals_girl has suggested that they might be defeated by Old Irish. I think she's right; pretty much everything is defeated by Old Irish.

Keynes has made a suggestion about Gesta after I said something silly in his supervision. We still haven't got a really good idea for a Page Three, but ideas for entries are thick on the ground - now we just need to write them...
