Everything happens at once.
I've got my dissertating - the nice bit, written up, not including any of the plan - to 3074 words. It takes a lot more effort and construction that writing narratively, I've found. There's tons more plan to add to it, so that's going to make plenty more when it gets expanded.
At the asnac lunch I spoke to the first year who sat next to me at the black tie dinner - I don't know her name, though I ought to, I'm sure. Anyway, she asked what my dissertation was on and instead of switching off or eyes-glazing-over she said "yeah, I've just done my essay on The Wanderer and it really is Ecclesiastes, isn't it?" Well, as far as I know, we're the only two to think that so far. It amused me. Luckily I've claimed the topic to write about first - the precious is mine, I tell you.
