Firstly, here's a nice photo of everyone on stage yesterday:
Unfortunately two of our members weren't there - one of our singers and our bassist.
Well last time I mentioned some songs needed significant censoring. Well, just before we went on, we were told that because things were already running so late, our set had to be cut from 50 minutes to only 15. Not ideal, but on the other hand some of the more coarse works could be shaved out, and we were left with mostly new work and better practiced songs. We also did a cover of Little Lion Man, and a girl there said we'd covered her favourite song. That made us feel great to hear.
On top of all that, after we finished, a guy came to us and asked if we needed a bassist. Which we actually did, because ours had given his notice literally the day before. And he's on my course - small world! I can't wait to hear him play.
Afterwards Ollie and myself went for lunch in the all you can eat Chinese buffet and got our money's worth, and I was almost sick from how much I ate! Then I went over to his for pre-drinks before going to Cavern to see Blissful Abyss play, and both getting pretty wasted as the night progressed.
I tend to call it a good night when I wake up with at least the same number of friends I had at the start, so.. good night had by all.
Right now I'm just still hungry for carbs and, actually, pretty sunburnt. My outfit yesterday didn't leave much to the imagination so there was a lot of sun-deprived skin to fry. I guess eventually the sun goes for so long, you forget that it burns when it's actually out..
