Failed again.

That is, once again the judges failed to recognise true genius ;-)

They did put on a fine gala dinner last night. Good food, good music, good company--it's been worth coming to Shepparton, even if it didn't turn out quite as planned.

Bah, you will show them! Show them once and for all!

In the meantime, a real shame. At least Ligeti got a showing!

What a shame that mob can't find any decent judges. It's so kind of you to keep giving them extra chances.

Glad the music, food and company were good.

Boo hiss! Sorry to hear this. halfflat is right about Ligeti, though.

Glad you managed to extract some enjoyment from the trip.

Boo, hiss!

Of course, the great thing about Ligeti is that you can play the same piece and punish the people who don't like it while rewarding the people that do - there is no middle ground.

Commiserations!

A nice concept--but one of the most bizarre outcomes is that the judges did seem to find a middle ground. They told me that they found the Ligeti interesting, and admired me for playing such obviously difficult music, but they thought (to my amazement) that I didn't play it very well. Allegedly it lacked clarity and was confusing to listen to (!)
