It was a very challenging dance rehearsal tonight and it was very rewarding. We worked our butts of and it felt good, We finally got the chair for David [Motel] during the wedding scene. It is not too bad for the four of us to lift him.
We set the choreography for 'Sabbath Prayer' and 'Anatevka'. It is very easy choreography, but it needed to be set.
We had a tremendously good time working with the prop bed on wheels for The Dream. It is kind of terrifying to ride around on it, which worked very well for the scene. This is the best choreography and staging for the this sequence I have ever done. The actress playing Fruma Sara still lacks confidence about her entrances and the lyrics for the song. Ami{Golde} and I also got covered in little splinters from the bed. It need another set of wheels and some kind of cover so we can avoid the little splinters.
We worked a bit on To Life, but it was mainly review. We did not finish learning the choreography for the end of the song, which was the ambition of the Choreographer [Jen]. Our accompanist got a bit delayed at her practice with the orchestra.
We also reviewed Tradition and the wedding scene. We need to work on our transition for all of the little sub-segments of the wedding, but other than that it went very well.
We have a lot of bodies on the stage when the full cast is there, and we will have 30 more when children's chorus joins us.
Also we are going to end up having tech Sunday instead of the usual tech Saturday due to scheduling conflicts with the Set Designer and the person in charge of lighting.
We are hurting a bit for people selling ads for the program. The official deadline is tomorrow, but the stage Manager [Dan] can fudge it a little bit, so we have until Tuesday.
