Summer is...
CHEESECAKE, days on the beach, yeas wok, FR, bubble tea, baseball games, picnics, CANADIA, blackberry milkshakes, chelan, drive-in movies, working and interning, playing with doggies, getting my nails done, BBQ on Alki, the birth of my new neice/nephew (im gonna be such a great auntie!), visiting the ranch and riding horses, camping/smores, sleeping endlessly, basking in the sun...
Today was a day very reminiscent of summer. It was beaming all around me. I went to work, had a few good laughs, rented a movie, and walked around in the sunshine. Then I got the perfect parking spot downtown for my haircut, got my haircut which was very amusing bc it was at the Gene Juarez training salon so there was an instructor there and everything. Then I stole my dads internet which is why im online on my laptop right now - happy! And now im about to go bake a cake. Voila. The essence of summer surrounds me and my bedroom has that "its summer" scent coming in through the open window. Know what i mean? Its a smell thats different than usual. But good.
I'm so glad summer has arrived, but I miss my Gonzaga buddies so much! I got to see a couple of them the other day at the BBT concert downtown, but Molly my roomie for next year is all the way in Ohio! I've talked to her a few times on the phone but its just not the same. Its funny to look back at all the goodbye's ive had in the past year... like going away to college was goodbye to all my friends here... and then being at college now its not that i dont want to come back home and revisit all my friends, but it'll be weird to part from the people ive basically LIVED with the past few months you know? I mean my friendships from HS are AMAZING and i wouldnt trade them for the world, but the friendships at college become something completely different... because you are almost like family living with these people - you get into a routine - having dinner with them, hanging out almost every night, etc. So its weird to be home. Its a whole different world. Not necessarily bad. But I'll be happy to go back to Gonzaga this fall. And I couldnt be more excited that I'm excited to go back to school. It confirms my decision to transfer was a good one. THANK GOD!
Ok i'm through rambling.... so about this cake business.....
