Ok so respect for Zambian government, at least back in 2002, pretty much zero. They actually got mad the United States because the food aid we were trying to give them was genetically modified. Ok so yes, we could have given them non genetically engineered food, but we didn't, so we're guilty of being dicks because we didn't give a starving country the kind of food they would prefer. I dono, maybe its just me, but I think that starving one's country because you're too stubborn to accept food (which the UN said was ok) because you're worried that it MAYBE could be hazardous to your health and might reproduce with the local maize(corn I think, I dono if you're curious google it). Bear in mind y'all that a huge portion of the food on American shelves has genetically engineered stuff in it (I think I read somewhere that it was 1/3 of all food on shelves in America had GE/GM) and I'm pretty sure we're not dying off in a huge epidemic of side effects, caused by altering our food so that we don't use as many pesticides. WAIT OH NOES! Why would we do such a terrible thing, how dare we try and make our plants more resistant to pests that eat them and destroy crops, how DARE we try and increase the yields that we get from each crop. We must be a nation of bad people because genetic engineering is obviously evil. Yeah, we're so evil that we're the biggest food aid provider in the world. We're such bad people that we tried to give another country food. Thank goodness there are the good people running that country who know better than to let our evil evil food in to stop the famine that is killing off their population. Oh we almost tricked you guys, but you stopped us. Maybe one of these days we'll be really nice and not try and force our food on them when they're starving. I dono, its just not part of our evil nature to not try and give people food.
